Terms of Sale

What you agree to when you order a shirt from lookunique.

Version 2026-10-12.1 · in force since 12 October 2026

These are the terms you agree to when you order a shirt from us. We have tried to write them the way we write everything else here: in plain words, with nothing hidden. Where the law gives you a right, we say so, even where it costs us.

Every shirt here is printed one at a time, to the order of the person buying it, and that changes what happens if you want to send one back. Section 7 is the one to read before you order.

1. Who you are buying from

Surfzone OÜ, an Estonian private limited company.

Write to [email protected] about anything: an order, a complaint, a change of mind, a shirt that arrived wrong. It is the same address for all of it, and a person reads it.

2. What we sell

A t-shirt with a drawing printed on the front. You get the drawing in one of two ways:

  • You make it. You write a prompt, upload a photo, or type the words you want set. Our machine draws it there and then, for you, and no one else has ever had it.
  • You pick one of ours. You choose a drawing from the shop, in the colour and size you want.

Either way the shirt is printed only after you order it. We hold no stock of printed shirts.

The blank garment is a Gildan 64000, a Gildan 64000L or a Comfort Colors 1717, depending on the cut you choose. The shop names the cut, the fabric weight and the fit on the page where you choose it. Colours on a screen are never exactly the colours of cloth; the swatches are the printer's own photographs of the real fabric, which is as close as we can get.

Every drawing is printed as our machine drew it. A drawing made from a prompt is not a photograph and is not a logo — it is a one-off picture, and part of the point is that neither of us knows exactly what it will look like until it exists.

3. How an order is made

  1. You choose a drawing, a cut, a colour, a size and a print size. The shop shows the shirt as it will be printed.
  2. You press Order, and fill in where the shirt should go.
  3. You tick the box confirming you have read these terms, and press Continue to payment.
  4. You pay. The button says Pay and the amount, because pressing it takes the money.
  5. We email you a confirmation with your order number and these terms attached.

The contract is made when your payment succeeds, not before. Until then you can close the page and nothing has happened. Before you pay, you can go back and change any of it.

You can see everything you have chosen on the last screen before you pay, and change it there.

4. The price

The price shown in the shop is the price you pay for the shirt. It includes Estonian VAT at 24%, or the VAT of your own country where the law requires us to charge that instead.

Shipping is shown separately, before you pay, as its own line. There is nothing else: no handling fee, no surcharge for a colour or a size, no charge for the drawing. Drawing is free and stays free, however many you make.

Order two or more shirts at once and 10% comes off the whole order. The receipt shows the line before you pay. An order is one design in one size, so this is two or more of the same shirt going to the same person.

A code takes the amount it names off one order, and the receipt shows it before you pay. A code works once, until the date it was sent or given with. It is not cash, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be used on an order that is already paid. If we cancel an order that used a code, the code works again.

A friend's link. When the shop offers one (after an order, on its thanks page), anyone you send your link to gets the percentage it names off their first order with us. When their shirt has shipped, we email you a code worth the amount the shop named when they ordered. A link counts only for somebody who has not ordered before — we recognise the same email, browser or delivery address — and never for an order of your own, and it earns at most ten codes a month. A discount never takes a shirt below what it costs us to make and send; when it would, less comes off, and the receipt says exactly how much before you pay. We may stop offering links at any time, and every code we have already sent keeps working until its date.

If your order goes outside the European Union, customs duty or import VAT may be charged by your own country when the parcel arrives. That is not ours and we cannot collect it for you.

We take payment by card through Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

5. Getting the shirt to you

We send your order to the printer as soon as the payment clears. Printing and posting take up to ten working days — that is the printer's own declared figure, and the number you see at checkout is read from them, not typed by us — and then the parcel travels, usually a few days more within the EU. You get the tracking link by email the moment it is posted.

We aim to have the shirt with you within three weeks of your order. If we cannot manage that, we will write and tell you, and you may cancel and have all your money back. In any case the law gives us 30 days from the order unless we agree otherwise with you, and we hold ourselves to that.

We ship to the countries listed at checkout. If yours is not there, we cannot yet send to you.

The parcel is our risk until it reaches you. If it is lost on the way, that is our problem to solve, not yours — tell us and we will send another or give your money back.

6. If something is wrong with the shirt

If the shirt arrives misprinted, damaged, not the size you ordered, or simply not what these terms say it is, tell us and we will put it right at our cost. We will reprint it or refund it, whichever you prefer, and you never pay the postage for our mistake.

Please tell us within a reasonable time of noticing. You are not on a short clock: under Estonian law (Law of Obligations Act § 218) we answer for any fault that shows itself within two years of the shirt reaching you. For the first year, a fault is assumed to have been there all along and we have to prove otherwise; after that, the burden is yours.

The law gives you a set of remedies and you choose among them: repair or replacement, a reduction in price, or cancelling the contract and getting your money back (Law of Obligations Act § 101). Nothing in these terms takes any of them away, and any part of these terms that tried to would simply be void (§ 62).

What is not a fault: a drawing you have gone off, a colour that looked different on your screen, or a shirt that does not fit because a different size was ordered. That is Section 7.

Wear and wash it kindly — inside out, cool, and not in a tumble dryer. A print that has been ironed on its face is not a manufacturing fault.

7. Changing your mind

This is the part that is different here, so it gets the most words.

Normally, buying online in the EU gives you 14 days to send something back for any reason at all. That right exists because a shop can put the thing back on the shelf and sell it to the next person. Here there is no shelf. Nothing is printed before it is ordered. Your shirt is made to your own choices — the drawing, the cut, the colour, the size, the print size and the side it goes on — and printed for you after you order it. That is the situation the law's exception exists for: goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised, Article 16(c) of the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), in Estonian law the Law of Obligations Act § 53(4)(3).

So there is no 14-day right to change your mind on a shirt from this shop — whether you wrote the prompt, uploaded the photo, set the words, or chose a drawing that was already here. We tell you this before you pay, and you confirm it by ticking the box. That confirmation is the whole reason we are allowed to rely on it.

Because of that, please take a moment over the size. The size guide on the shirt page is the printer's own chart, and the checkout shows the size you chose on its own line before you pay. A shirt that does not fit because a different size was ordered is not a fault.

None of this touches Section 6. If the shirt is faulty, misprinted, damaged or not what these terms say it is, it is ours to put right for two years, at our cost, and no amount of personalisation changes that.

8. A drawing can be ordered more than once

When someone buys a shirt, its drawing stays where it was. Anyone who can reach it — on the shop's own page, or through a link somebody sends them — can order the same drawing, each in their own cut, colour and size, and each shirt is printed to that person's order. The shirt's page says how many have been ordered once there are two.

So a group can wear the same shirt: send the link to your friends, and each orders their own.

9. Your design, and ours

What you make stays yours. The prompt you wrote and the picture the machine drew from it are yours. We do not claim to own them.

To print your shirt and run the shop, you give us permission to keep your drawing and print it on what you ordered. That permission lasts as long as we need it to fulfil the order and to keep proper records of what we sold.

We will not put your drawing in the shop for other people unless you tell us we may. It is never listed. The only way anyone else reaches it is a link to it, and if you send that link, whoever opens it can order the same shirt (Section 8).

What you send us has to be yours to send. When you upload a photo or write a prompt, you are telling us that you have the right to do it — that it is your photo, or you have permission, and that printing it will not step on anybody else's copyright, trade mark or likeness. We cannot check this and do not try to. If someone comes to us with a claim about something you gave us, you carry it.

Our drawings stay ours. The drawings in the shop, the shop itself, the name and the mark are ours. Buying a shirt buys you the shirt.

10. What we will not print

We refuse some things, and we would rather say so plainly than surprise you at checkout.

Every photograph is checked before our machine ever sees it, and prompts are checked too. We will not print:

  • nudity or sexual content;
  • anything that sexualises children, in any form;
  • content that attacks or degrades people for who they are;
  • praise or promotion of violence, terrorism or self-harm;
  • other people's trade marks, logos or copyrighted characters;
  • someone else's face or name, used to harass them.

If we refuse, we say so and you can try something else. Nothing is charged. We delete what we refused and keep only the fact that it happened.

We may also refuse or cancel an order we believe is being made to abuse the shop or the machine. If we cancel a paid order for any reason, you get all of your money back.

11. Complaints, and what to do if we cannot agree

Write to [email protected]. Tell us your order number and what is wrong. We answer every complaint, and we aim to do it within 3 working days and to settle it within 15.

If we cannot sort it out between us, you can take it further, free of charge:

  • Consumer Disputes Committee at the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon), Endla 10a, 10122 Tallinn — komisjon.ee. It decides disputes between a consumer and a trader that the two could not settle. It costs you nothing to bring one.
  • Or the county court where you live.

If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre in your own country will help you deal with us in your own language: eccnet.eu.

We are not bound by any code of conduct, and there is no trade body standing behind us. It is just us.

12. The dull but necessary part

The law that applies is Estonian law. That does not take away the protection of the consumer law of the country you live in — if your own country gives you more, you keep it.

The language of these terms and of the shop is English. If you would rather deal with us in Estonian, write and say so and we will.

If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Any term that would leave you worse off than the law requires is simply void and the law applies instead (Law of Obligations Act § 62).

We may change these terms, but never for an order already made. The version you agreed to is the version recorded against your order and the one that governs it. Each version carries its date, at the top of this page.

How we look after your details is a separate document: the Privacy Notice.
